As Las Vegas continues to experience tremendous growth, the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is planning and implementing numerous transportation improvement programs designed to benefit our valley's commuters, one being PROJECT NEON. While efficient planning, designing and construction initiatives contribute to NDOT's overarching goal of developing a safe and effective transportation system, public involvement activities that communicate the interests and meet the process needs of all participants also are needed to help NDOT meet this goal.
Therefore, a public involvement team for PROJECT NEON has been established to accomplish the following objectives:
- Assist NDOT in making better decisions that reflect the interests and concerns of all affected stakeholders
- Provide a mechanism that presents participants with the information they need to actively participate in the decision-making process
- Foster communication and establish trust between NDOT and the public
