WELCOME to PROJECT NEON, the exciting new gateway to economically booming Downtown Las Vegas.

The Nevada Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration and the City of Las Vegas will address the short-term and long-term transportation needs for the I-15 corridor from Sahara Avenue to the I-515/US-95 system to system interchange commonly known as the "Las Vegas Spaghetti Bowl" through PROJECT NEON.

As the Downtown renaissance continues, the surrounding area will grow and prosper also. PROJECT NEON addresses the challenging traffic issues that will arise as businesses, public services, medical facilities and housing thrive in this new economic zone.

PROJECT NEON will also help alleviate congestion on our surface streets, such as the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and W. Charleston, where thousands of cars pass each day.

At 'ndotprojectneon.com', you will find everything you need to know about the project, from the impacted area, to the project schedule, to copies of press releases and newsletters, and all the information on public meetings.

Did you know, too?

While the Strip seems to get its share of attention, did you know that Downtown Las Vegas has been welcoming visitors since 1905, and it preceeded the first Strip casino by 36 years?

Downtown had Las Vegas' first paved street (Fremont, 1925), first traffic light, first elevator (Apache Hotel, 1932) and the first high-rise (Fremont Hotel, 1956).

With the resurgence of Downtown Las Vegas, it has become as popular as ever, with over 17 million visitors a year coming to Fremont Street to see the bright lights of the original Las Vegas!
